Buying a home can be a confusing and stressful process (insert plug on why you need a Real Estate Agent).  Some typical questions that arise from buying a home/condo/townhome: How much cash do you need to have saved up?  What type of mortgages are there?  What type of mortgage should I get?  Why are property taxes on this home so high?  What is Homestead Exemption and how do I apply?  Is this home in a flood zone?  The list goes on and on.  Add to this new mortgage laws that will begin August 1, 2015, and you may just think about renting for another year.  Fret not!  The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) released an awesome toolkit yesterday that guides consumers through the mortgage and homebuying process.  It includes an explanation of the changes that will take place August 1st, and includes sample forms of the new disclosures – Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure – that must be used.  If you are on the fence about purchasing a home, this toolkit is a great start to begin your research.

Complete the form below or contact me, and I will email you this interactive mortgage and homebuying toolkit.  Cheers to the start of homeownership!
